Notte - Narrow-Loom Rosa Linen Shorts

Notte - Narrow-Loom Rosa Linen Shorts

Notte is the name of a series of soft shorts made for evenings at home, vacation days, and everything in between.

Each piece is cut by hand in my atelier, using Italian vintage cottons sourced one by one from old stockrooms and textile archives. Once a particular cloth is finished, it is finito!

The Fabric

Crafted from an exceptional, vintage Italian linen, these shorts blend rugged heritage construction with refined European tailoring. Sourced from the archives of a historic Italian master shirting maker, this rare deadstock fabric is imbued with a unique sense of soul, possessing an unrivalled, exquisite softness

Woven on traditional narrow-looms, the fabric features a distinctively rich, soulful texture and a beautifully soft rosa hue with thin red stripes. Because they are cut from this narrow-width cloth, each pair carries the hallmark density, incredible breathability, and durability of old-school artisanal textiles. They are lightweight, full of character, and fall with a beautiful, rather lived-in drape.

This is how we work

The LSJ studio makes handmade-to-order garments using rarely found vintage and reprinted antique textiles. Our practice is the opposite of next day delivery: a time- consuming and creative process, made by a small team of four people. We use traditional craftsmanship techniques that involve composing, cutting and sewing everything by hand, imbuing each piece with a sense of soul and beautiful finish lacking from today’s fashion system.
