Indigo Khadi Dress

Indigo Khadi Dress

Last piece ready to Ship – Size 34/36

A rare find in our atelier: this piece is crafted from exceptional organic Khadi cotton – a handspun, handwoven textile dyed with organic, vegetable-based indigo. Each batch carries its own soul, with subtle shifts in the blue hue, making every garment unique.

The silhouette is easy and spacious – a summer’s dream. Designed with ¾ trumpet sleeves, a soft empire waist, and a gathered neckline closed by a delicate rouleau tie. Hidden side pockets add quiet functionality. Hemline falls just below the knee.

100% natural indigo-dyed Khadi cotton. Please note that irregularities in the weave are a sign of the handmade process and a part of this fabric’s living history – once a symbol of resistance during British colonization in India.

Wash with care: separately in a mesh bag or by hand, cold on a delicate cycle. Colour will soften and fade beautifully with time, as all true indigo does. Dry clean only if you wish to preserve the deepest tone.

Measurements:

Length from shoulder to bottom: 117 cm.

Empire line when laying flat: 86 cm.

Neckline depth from top of collar: 28 cm.

Can be washed on 30c - small irregularities will appear in this fabric, due to it's handwoven state.

Please note: As we are currently building a new website, shipping quotes are no longer 100 % valid for varies destinations around the world, and we may charge extra for your destination, as this is a tiny business, we do not cover shipping worldwide without checking quotes.

This is how we work

The LSJ studio makes handmade-to-order garments using rarely found vintage and reprinted antique textiles. Our practice is the opposite of next day delivery: a time- consuming and creative process, made by a small team of four people. We use traditional craftsmanship techniques that involve composing, cutting and sewing everything by hand, imbuing each piece with a sense of soul and beautiful finish lacking from today’s fashion system.
