Notte - Dobby Woven Cotton Shorts

Notte - Dobby Woven Cotton Shorts

Ready to ship in size Medium, last pair

Notte is the name of a series of soft shorts made for evenings at home, vacation days, and everything in between.

Each piece is cut by hand in my atelier, using Italian vintage cottons sourced one by one from old stockrooms and textile archives. Once a particular cloth is finished, it is finito!

The Fabric

Crafted from a rare, narrow-loom Italian dobby cotton, these shorts blend rugged heritage construction with refined European tailoring. Sourced from the deadstock archives of small, historic Italian spinning mills, the fabric is woven on traditional shuttle looms. It features an intricate, textured dobby-weave that forms the geometric blue stripes over fine mini checks.

Because they are cut from narrow-width cloth produced by artisan weavers, each pair are lightweight, full of history, and come with a sense of inherent soul that modern machinery simply cannot replicate.

This is how we work

The LSJ studio makes handmade-to-order garments using rarely found vintage and reprinted antique textiles. Our practice is the opposite of next day delivery: a time- consuming and creative process, made by a small team of four people. We use traditional craftsmanship techniques that involve composing, cutting and sewing everything by hand, imbuing each piece with a sense of soul and beautiful finish lacking from today’s fashion system.
