Quilted patchwork hot-water-bottle cover, made from an exquisite antique toile quilt sourced in the Hudson Valley. Patched with contrasting silk stitches where time has worn the fabric thin, using small offcuts of silk and cotton from my own production. Lined with soft cottage-rose baby corduroy, filled with 100% biodegradable wool wadding. The back features a deep burgundy baby corduroy, finished with handmade binding in ecru floral blue print. Closes with a wooden toggle button.
Comes with a white hot-water bottle made in Germany. Caution: do not use boiling water.
The LSJ studio makes handmade-to-order garments using rarely found vintage and reprinted antique textiles. Our practice is the opposite of next day delivery: a time- consuming and creative process, made by a small team of four people. We use traditional craftsmanship techniques that involve composing, cutting and sewing everything by hand, imbuing each piece with a sense of soul and beautiful finish lacking from today’s fashion system.
